Feeling Vulnerable

Published on 12 December 2024 at 09:15

Recently, I dealt with a major Scam, losing significant resources, years worth.   I had done so many things right before the situation, and then this happened.  How could this happen?  They've taken everything.  How would you feel if you've been working for a long time to save up for a long time goal, and suddenly it was gone?   What would you do?

It's very easy to just give up,  stay angry at the world, or even worse. . .

For me, it was devastating. I will admit, I still felt defeated. It was hard to wrap my head around this situation, where I had been saving for years, and now, it was gone, yet as I have been working on my journey to improve myself,  I am learning to deal with it very differently.  I would normally struggle over comprehending the impact, calculate my losses, think about why this was happening to me, and just beat myself up over the whole situation for a long time.   Can you relate?

Situations like these can leave you feeling vulnerable, wondering how this could happen, who can I trust, can I recover?

I followed all the protocols of contacting local and federal authorities, reaching out to specialists, and more, but the reality is Scams are so rampant, that when I reached out to the recommended organizations, each organization, either said, we don't have the resources to really help with that, or that they were so overwhelmed by the # of responses that it would be a while, thus leaving any chances of recovery close to 0.  These scammers can act so quickly, yet there is no response that can help us quickly enough to recover.   So what do you do?

I want to remind you, yes, you can recover.  EVERYTHING you need is in YOU to succeed.  We can ask for help, but as I mentioned, a lot of people are also asking for help, so you've got to learn to pick yourself up.  Fight for what you want, and don't dwell on the negatives.  If you can take even 1 lesson from your experience, it's worth it.

How should we feel?  Like grieving, it's ok to feel the pain of what it is, but do we let it control us?  I think it's important for us to feel the pain that we experience, but don't wallow in it.  Feel the pain, reflect on what you appreciate about the experience, and keep creating opportunities for yourselves.

I want to leave a couple of thoughts with you as you reflect on your personal experiences.

What is your mindset?  Do you feel like the victim, or do you use an abundance mindset?

Do you act passively like everything is happening to you, or are you an active participant - you make things happen.

Take charge of your situations.
